Description

A hardy biennial plant with greyish green, almost woolly leaves and yellow flowers, Mullein (Verbascum Thapsus) has a long history of therapeutic use. As far back as Ancient Greece, it was said it had a practical use as a folk medicine for treating lung conditions.

The plant is reputedly both an expectorant and demulcent and may also posess slightly sedative qualities that may assist in settling the lungs.

We always aim to obtain our natural ingredients from the best sources – this dried Mullein from growers in the Southeastern portion of the Balkan Peninsula, where the soils are mineral-rich and the growers’ traditional techniques  and sustainable farming practices ensure it as a luxury grade infusion.

Brew the leaves on their own for a naturally caffeine-free herbal tea or blend with other herbs to enhance the flavour without losing the effect – the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
